To reduce gender based violence against girl and young women an advocacy workshop held dated on 22nd December, 2014 in the hall room of Nilphamari Sador upazila chaired by Sabet Ali, UNO Nilphamari Sador Upazila. In the advocacy workshop Chief guest was Abujar Rahman, Upazila chairman, Nilphamari Sador. Child marriage is the alarming issue in Nilphamari sadar upazila which has to be stopped and parents must be aware on child marriage. In the workshop chief guest asked all UP chairmen to be alert on child marriage and make child marriage free union. In the workshop meeting UP chairmen delivered their opinions how to stop child marriage. UNO of Nilphamari sador asked all chairmen and education institutions to keep observation regarding 100% online birth registration. He said that next week we are going to declare Luxmichap UP child marriage free union with the help of chairman, youth groups and related NGOs working in the UP. In the workshop special guests were Polashbari UP chairman Topon Kumar Roy, , Luxmichap UP Chairman Aminur Rahman, Itakhola UP Chairman Hafijur Rahman, , Panchapukur UP Chairman Oahedul Islam, , Choraikhola UP Chairman Rouf Mollah, Dinesh Ch. Roy, Health and Family planning officer. There are 47 participants were present in the workshop meeting. Among them Police representative, Madrasha teachers, School teachers, religious leaders, Journalists, Youth Forum and Civil Society organizations representatives actively participated in the workshop.
