Promoting Gender Equality through Local Knowledge and Peoples Initiatives (PGELKPI) project has celebrated International Women day with facilitation of Diakonia and USS following the theme of “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights’’ at Laxmichap union on 08th March’2020. A cycle rally has arranged where 150 girls participated with gender equality related different slogan and carrying festoon. Near about 5 kilometer moves of girls ride on bicycle. After end of rally a discussion was conducted at Laxmichap union parishad field. Aminur Rahman chairman of Laxmichap union, Babu Radhakanto Roy president of 3 number paddy bank, Shahnaz Begum project coordinator of PGELKPI project, Abdul Kuddus Sarker Coordinator of education and monitoring officer of USS were present and actively participated both rally and discussion event. The program chaired by Konika Rani President of Participatory Action Research of Laxmichap union. Misti Rani, vice president of student forum said we have started practice from home for equality initiative. For this reason, parents have to aware so that discrimination is not happen between their son and daughter.
