PEOPLE, LAND & AGRARIAN REFORM IN NORTHERN ECOLOGICAL TERRITORY(PLANET) alliance and USS, Nilphamari has jointly arranged a round table discussion meeting on agriculture and forest land use policy at Aktarul Habib training centre, Nilphamari on 08 December’2021.
Abu Bakker Siddiq, DD, Department of Agricultural and Extension, Nilphamari; Shamsul Islan, Assistand Director, Youth Development Department, Nilphamari; Sorwer Manik, former principal of Moshiur Rahman Degree College, Nilphamari; Shohidul Islam, principal of Moshiur Rahman Degree College, Nilphamari; Shahajahan Ali, Chairman of Kundu Pukur union parished were present in the workshop. Besides youth representatives, civil society representatives, freedom fighter representatives, NGO representatives, Teacher representatives, Law enforcement department representatives, Journalists, Local government representatives were also present.
Alauddin Ali, Executive Director of USS was present as chaired of the program. Ajmira Jahan Dristi read the concept note of the round table discussion on effective land use policy and laws to protect Agricultural & forest land. Jaba Afia Rimi, member of district youth forum Nilphamari conducted the program.
Objective of the workshop:
• To ensure actual land use and prevent misuse
• Distribution of khas land and water bodies among landless and their rehabilitation
• Prevent day by day decrease agriculture land and forest and ensure food security
• Land zoning system to do establish and protect agriculture & forest
• Control of land robber business regarding land
• Assist to aboriginal to establish legal rights in land.
