USS PGELKPI project has celebrated of Rokeya day through a gala rally, different sports event like pillow passing, race, biscuit race etc. and seminar supported by Diakonia at Kokoi Borogacha PC High School for the right-holders and communities of Laxmichap Union and Students as well as teachers of Kokoi Borgacha PC High School of Nilphamari on 09th December’ 2018. The day has observed for awareness raising of women rights and physical as well as mental development of women. Begum Rokeya was a pioneer of women’s rights in the sub continent.
Babu Kaminikanta Ray President of Kokoi Borgacha PC high School, Babu Gonopoti Ray Head teacher of Kokoi Borgacha PC High School, Subod Ray Head teacher of Dubachuri Girls School, Babu Omborash Ray president of 2no. Dhan Bank of Laxmichap and other elite persons,Gonogobesona and Adolescent forum members of the union were actively present with the rally and sports events. Alauddin Ali, the executive Director of USS was present at the seminar and prize giving ceremony. All the staffs of PGELKPI project played proactively role for organizing a successful program.
The right-holders took this program eagerly and participated in all the events joyfully. The celebration conveyed them the dreams of Begum Rokeya as men and women both got equal opportunities in the sports event.
