Gender Equality through Peoples Initiative (GEPI) Project under Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) has arranged life skill training for girls supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) at Khokshabari Moniruddin High School, Khokshabari, Nilphamari on 17 & 18 September’2019. USS has arranged and conduct another life skill training for girls supported by MJF at Gorgram School & Collage, Gorgram, Nilphamari 23-24 September’2019.Total 50 girls were present in the two training.
Objective of the training:
â– To inform and capacitated in knowledge regarding elements of life skill so that girls can life lead practically following these elements.
There were discussed about project goal and objectives, hat is life skill, importance of life skill training, feature life of students, barrier of students life, child rights and 11 elements of life skill like: decision making, problem solution, deeply think, new thought, proper communication, relationship with others, Imagine yourself in another place, compromise, know yourself, stay under stress, stay under emotion. The training was very interactive. Most of the participants were said that we have gained knowledge on life skill and gender discrimination, types of torture and its affects. “we did not know about life skill before the training, now we are very happy to know about life skill and thanks to USS for provide this training” said Nachima akter and Jannatun Akter. This training will help us throughout our lives conduct. The training was facilitated by Md. Jomil, coordinator of Agriculture, M&E of USS; Salma Akter, GDO of USS & Jharna Rani Ray, project coordinator of GEPI project and respective field facilitator of GEPI project were present as a co-facilitator.
