Training on Age Specific Child Protection Held at Jaldhaka Upazila

Three days long training on Age specific child protection held at Community Learning Center Jaldhaka upazila from 16-18 January, 2016. The training was arranged by USS with the support of Plan International Bangladesh. Project focal points of LAMB, SKS Foundation, ESDO, Rupantor, USS and Dhaka Ahsania Mission total 27 participants attended in the training. During the during topics were covered child rights and protection, UNCRC, Child act 2013, Labor law, Child and women law, domestic violence and protection law, human trafficking, NO, GO Tell, Advocacy etc.  The training was facilitated by SM Abdul Quader, Child Protection Specialist, Plan International Bangladesh, Rangpur divisional Office, Pobon Malo, Project Coordinator, USS, Moklesur Rahman Pintoo, Project Coordinator, Rupantor, Abdur Rahim, Technical Officer, USS. Group works, presentation, demonstration methods were followed to make the training more participatory. Child Protection focal points attended the training so that every project of Plan International Bangladesh support can ensure child rights and protection from every corner and joint voice can be raised to make a child friendly spaces. After end of the training Dr. Mostofa, Project Manager of SHOW project implementing by LAMB expressed his feeling in such way that, “I cordially thank USS and Plan International Bangladesh to arrange such important training for us. It is not only for me but also help our all down line staffs to work for the rights of children and their protection. After attending the training I have improved my knowledge on child rights and protection.” On the end session of the training Dr. Hrisikesh Sarker, Programme Manager of Rangpur Divisional Office, Plan International Bangladesh said that, “We want to see that all projects supported by Plan International Bangladesh are ensuring child rights and protection issues. Gradually we will cover all staffs to learn on child rights and protection issues  so that a suitable and child friendly spaces are created’’ and finished the training giving thanks to all participants and arrangers.
