District Child Welfare Board Meeting, Nilphamari

The District Child Welfare Board has arranged a meeting supported by Plan International Bangladesh and Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) at the DC conference room of Lalmonirhat district on 28 November’2023. Pankaj Ghosh, DC of Nilphamari was present as chairperson in the meeting. The meeting was conducted by Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique, DD, Department of Social Services and member secretary of the district Child Welfare Board. District police supernatant, Civil Surgeon, District Legal Aid Officer, Jail Super, District Education Officer, District Information officer, Chairman, National Women Organization-Nilphamari, Probation officer-Department of Social Service office-Nilphamari, Upazilla Social service officer-Nilphamari, Executive Director, USS and Youth Network representatives were present in the meeting.

DD, Department of Social Services highlighted the progress as per the decision of the last Child Welfare board meeting. He said 203 child marriages have been stopped, à§¦2 Orphanage children got a GPA 4.53 in HSC, and there is an opportunity to have 100 children in a Government orphans child care center. The District Legal Aid Officer has said, a total of 4 legal facilities are available from the Legal Aid Office. Chairman, National Women Organization-Nilphamari has emphasized yard meetings to ensure child welfare. Jaldhakar Youth Network representatives presented their work at the meeting. Executive Director, USS-Nilphamari and Project Coordinator, Sponsorship program, USS-Jaldhaka also shared their progress and Highlighted the work of USS and Plan International Bangladesh.

DC of Nilphamari thanked the youth network representatives for helping the Government administration by providing information on child marriage and other child protection issues. He also thanked the USS and Plan International Bangladesh for taking the initiative to achieve child rights.
