Event on Journalists Fellowship

Action for Impact (A4I) project of USS has provided Fellowship to Youth Journalists' supported by Actionaid Bangladesh on 26th May’2019 for produce report on reproductive health services after investigating Domer upazila and publish in print media. The program was chaired by Mr. Md Sarwar Manik, Principal of Moshiur Rahman College, Nilphamari. Alauddin Ali, Executive Director of USS; Mr. Mir Mahmudul Hasan Astak, District representative of Daily Prothom Alo-, Bhuban Roy Nikhil, District Representative of Daily Kaler Kantho of Nilphamari and different projects Coordinators of USS were present in the program. A total of 15 people (women-3, male-12) were in this meeting.  Journalists highlighted the experience of their field level research. Prothom Alo representative said that there are many irregularities in providing health and family planning services in Domar upazila. Of these, service providers are not present timely at the service center, staff vacancy are remarkable. The chairperson of the meeting thanked to the journalists and encouraged them to create such reports. In addition, he gave advice on sharing the published reports with related department. Finally Fellowship was given to 3 young journalists Milladur Rahman Mamun, District Representative of Daily Kartoya; Shish Rahman, Editor and Publisher of Daily Nilphamari Barta and Mosharf Hossain, District Representative of Daily Khola Kagoj according to the proposal of the USS Project Team. The fellowship honorarium check handed over by USS Executive Director, Secretary of USS Executive Committee and Principle of Moshiur Rahman Collage.
