Leadership Development Training Held

As per planning, Promoting Gender Equality project of  USS organized 2 days leadership development training for right holders on 24-25 February 2014 in ARC  supported by diakonia.  20 president from 20 Ganogobashona group (Action Research Group), 15 female and 5 male participated at that training. The training was inaugurated by action research coordinator of USS Mr. Omor Faruk through introductory speech.

At the beginning of the training, all participants introduced themselves and everybody expressed their expectations. 12 Topics were discussed in the training. Those are Leader, Role of a leader for organization and society development, Category of leader, Obstacle  of women leadership and way to overcome, Gender,  Organization, Necessity of organization, Process of organization building, Communication, Dictatorial leader and Democratic leader, Function of standing committee of Union Parishad  and Information act. Lastly an action plan was developed by all participants.

All participants were divided into two teams and acted as autocratic and democratic leader. This act gave the viewers a clear concept about autocratic and democratic leader. Besides of scheduled program of the training, a brief discussion on Right to Information Act and standing committee of Union Parishad took place. After that, the participants discussed about their several initiatives and activities.

 

At the end of the training when the participants were asked to express their opinion, Harmuz Ali said, ‘‘Through this leadership development training, I came to know that a leader has so many duties and responsibilities to society and also we, the leaders, together can make our Lakshmichap Union as a Union free of child marriage and all sorts of corruptions.’’ Anowara Begum said, ‘‘It is necessary to perform gender training on the basis of pair. It would make easier for us to bring gender equality in family.
