Polashbari union Adolescent Forum of Nilphamari sador upazil has organized a mass gathering and road march on 8 March 14 supported by USS, Nilphamari and Diakonia Bangladesh. Mass gathering was held in Polashbari field at 11.00 am. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Tapon Kumar Roy, Chairman of Polashbari union. Md. Jakir Hossain, DC, Nilphamari was chief guest in the event. Md. Joaydur Rahaman, Police Super, Nilphamari, Advocate Akkhay Kumar Roy, PP, District Judge court, Advocate Al masud Alal, Special PP, Ms Nurunnahar Begum, District officer, Women affairs were present as special guests. Chief guest highly appreciated the event and advised to form adolescent forum at village level. Md. Safiqul Islam, president of adolescent forum, Polashbari union gave welcome speech and Alauddin Ali, executive director, USS, Nilphamari wished them good luck at srarting. About 1500 people participated in that event. They were members of Ganogobeshona group, Adolescent Forum, students of Polashbari Paroshmoni high school, Polashbari girl’s high school, Marriage maker, Religious leader, marriage registrar and community peoples. After discussion, the road march was inaugurated by chief guest. Lastly pala gan (Cultural Show) was performed in view of protecting child marriage by drama team of USS.
