Blanket Distributed by Girls and Young Women and Union Child Forum

Kaimari union girls and young women forum (GYWF) distributed blanket, Sweater and Scarf (Chador) among 50 poor families of Kaimari union. Kahinuzzaman Liton, union chairman of Kaimari UP under Jaldhaka upazila was the chief guest in the program. Girls and young women forum members arranged the program at Rother Bazar dated on 14 January, 2014. Girls and young women communicated with UNO of Jaldhaka and shared the cold situation of the villages of kaimari union. Poor people especially Children and old aged people are suffering very much in the cold situation. UNO of Jaldhaka was convinced by the girls and young women members and gave them 15 blankets, 15 sweaters and 20 scarfs (Chador). They made list of poor families and distributed with the help of union child and youth forum. Though UNO of Jaldhaka could attend in the distribution program but he said, “I have confidence on girls and young women and they will distribute neutrally. Now girls and young women are communicating and claiming their rights which were quite impossible in few years ago. I welcome their initiatives as they are engaging them in the social work. This is how they will come forward if we help them.” Girl and young women forum president of Kaimari union Argina Begum said that, “We are very happy that upazila administration helped these poor families through Girl and young women forum. We thanked UNO of Jaldhaka.”

On the other hand Shimulbari Bondhu Union child forum distributed 18 blankets distributed among the poor children of Shimulbari union dated on 11 January at Shimulbari union parishod. Bondhu Child forum arranged these blankets by their own contribution. Md Selim, president of Bondhu child forum said that, “there are many children who are suffering from cold. But they have no sufficient cold at home. This is our little effort for them. And for this social work I especial give thanks to USS. USS is working with us forming child forum and we have learn from the child forum about morality and child rights.”
