Debate competition at secondary school level

Nilphamari Adorsho High School of Nilphamari was organized a debate competition with the facilitation of Promoting Gender Equality through Local Knowledge and People’s Initiative (PGELKPI) Project under USS supported by Diakonia at their school on 26 July’ 2018. The topic of debate was "awareness is main to stop women violence not law". The two groups tried best from their own position by showing their logic in that debating competition. There were near about 200 audiences in that competition. Students, teachers and parents were in the debating competition. All audiences enjoyed the debating competition. Finally the rival group won in that competition.  Shumi Akter is a student of class nine who was selected as champion speaker from rival group. After debate competition a prize distribution ceremony was held which was presided by Md. Mahafuzul Haque, head teacher of Nilphamari Adorsho High School. Abdul Kuddus Sarker M&E coordinator and Shahnaz Begum Project coordinator of PGELKPI project of USS were special guests in the event. Then the Prizes were given to the debaters of the both groups and Trophy was given to the champion speaker and the winner group. At last the President delivered his brief speech and declared the end of debate competition by thanking all.
