LRP team of Action Aid Bangladesh organized a workshop on the land rights in Chilahati USS office, Nilphamari from 26th to 28th April’16. Objectives of the workshop was to draw a collective plan of land rights activities for partners by reviewing actions, learning’s and challenges from the last quarter (Jan-April, 2016) and to increase the capacity of LRP’s and people agencies to claim their rights over land and natural resources in upcoming days. 20 Participants of the program came from Patuakhali, Khulna, Dinajpur , Shunamganj, Joypurhut, Naogaon & Nilphamari. Mr Shamsher Ali, Manager & Dhritabrata Sen (Liton), Senior Programme Officer-Land Rights of AAB played the role of facilitators in the workshop. The main topics for discussion were land management system in Bangladesh and identifying its gaps in policies and practices & Khas land management system and increased access to khas land for landless people. Another important topic was water which is a common issue in Bangladesh. To get clear concept, various types of tools and matrix were used in the workshop. At the last session, Alauddin Ali, Executive Director, shared his opinion on related issue.
