Nari Jogajog Kendro (NJK) Nilphamari arranged Mini-Marathon as a part of violence against women under Promoting Gender Equality through Local Knowledge and Peoples Initiative (PGELKPI) project of USS supported by Dikonia at Nilphamari town on 10th October’2018.
The program started singing national anthem. Then the program conducted following four steps (1) Discussion regarding women violence (2) Opening of the program flying baloon (3) Moving mini-marathon and (4) Prize giving ceremony & closing. Asaduzzaman Nur MP and cultural minister of People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as chief guest. Begum Nazia Shirin DC of Nilphamari, Muhamman Ashraf Hossain SP of Nilphamari, Abuzer Rahman Upazila Chairman of Nilphamari sader, Arifa Sultana Vice chairman of Nilphamari sader upazila, Md. Sorwer Principal of Moshiur Rahman Degree College and Alauddin Ali Executive Director of USS were present as special guest in the program. Chief guest and special guests were discuss regarding violence of women, how they are victim at home, society, educational Institute, job areas, journey etc and how they save themselves in these situation. Chief Guest and special guest inaugurated the mini-marathon flying baloon after discussion session. Then a colorful mini-marathon moved from Shohid Miner Nilphamari to Moshiur Rahman Degree College, Nilphamari wearing message carrying T-Shirt & binding ribon on forehead. Near about 6 hundred peoples participated in the program who were government officials, different UP chairmen & members, school & college students, teachers, rural women, NJK members, media persons, civil society, NGO peoples, Girls karate team, Adolescent and Gonogobashaona forum, USS staffs etc. Finally prize giving ceremony was held where provide 6 prize of 1st 2nd & 3rd of male and female separately to winner of mini-marathon and then ended the program at Moshiur Rahman Degree College. Farhana Yasmin (Imu) NJK member and lecturer of Moshiur Rahman Degree College play role as presenter.
