International Mother Language Day celebrated leaded by children at Phulbari, Kurigram

Trinomul Journalist Team and Children's Forum has celebrated the International mother language day supported by Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) and ActionAid Bangladesh under the Women initiatives for community development (W4CD) project at Borovita Union Parishad on 21 February 2022.

The day has celebrated with various day-long events adheres to Covid-19 hygiene rules. The event were including rally, wreath-laying at the altar of Shaheed Minar, drawing competition, discussion meeting highlighting the significance of the day and distribution of prizes among the winners of the competition. Fulbari Upazila Social Audit Committee President & Senior Journalist Abdul Aziz Majnu, Social Audit Committee Vice President Journalist Mostafizur Rahman (Jahangir), Baravita High School’s Headmaster Sharif Uddin,  Poshchim Noudabosh Government Primary school’s teacher Emdadul Haque (Jaymuddin), Baravita Union Parishad’s women member Laili Begum, USS representatives, parents, youth and adolescents were presented.

A total of 101 children participated in the drawing competition. Among of them, 81 are sponsored children, 9 physically challenged sponsor child and 11 community children.  Total 16 winners from 4 groups were awarded. Through this event, children have learned about the language movement and they are pleased to participate in drawing competitions.
