Adolescent group member of Gender Equality through Peoples Initiative (GEPI) Project under Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) has organized Day observation of International Girl Child Day supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) at Gorgram Union porishod on 13 October’2019. Konna Shishur ogrojattra, desher jonno notun mattra was the theme of the Girl child day. Md. Reajul Islam, Chairman of Gorgram Union Porishod was present as president. Md. Alauddin Ali, Executive director of USS, Masuda Akter Mini, UP member of Gorgram Union Porishod, Md. Isbad Hosen Babu, Assistant teacher of Kittiniapara Di-mukhi High School, Md. Abdul Kuddus sarker, Education Coordinator of USS, Md. Jomil, coordinator of Agriculture, M&E of USS, Jharna Rani Ray, project coordinator of GEPI project of USS were present at the program. There were present about 150 peoples like: Group members, union social support committee members, Girls and boys, guardians and other elite persons of the union. A colorful rally moved from Union porisod field to Hazigong Bazer almost a one Kilometer round the area. The participants of the program participated with a will in the rally and discussion meeting. Girl participants have said in the discussion meeting there were problems at society and family. “Girls are tortured in family and society, like child marriage, rape, neglect, dishonor etc. we want give up of this violence” said Suchona. “Our neighbors are neglect all time if we go outside at our house” said Baby. The discussion meeting was very realistic. Md. Reajul Islam, Chairman of Gorgram Union Porishod gave closing speech in the program.
