In Nilphamari, food and safety materials have been distributed to 370 covid-19 affected people by the in separate place. On 4 October 2020, Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) and Action Aid Bangladesh are providing these food and safety items to the youth organizations through the Action for Impact (A4I) project.
Food and safety items were distributed to 264 people at Hariballav Government Primary School ground in Nilphamari district. Nilphamari Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahid Mahmud, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Alina Akhter, District Youth Development Department Assistant Deputy Director Ziarul Haque and District Human Rights Defenders Forum President Sarwar Manik were present on the occasion.
On the same day, food and safety items were distributed among 106 people at the Chilahati Merchant High School ground in Domar Upazila. Upazila Assistant Youth Development Officer Mr. Habib Mortuza was present as a guest. Representatives of all youth organizations and Udayankur Seba Sangstha were present at both the events.
Among the beneficiaries are Dalit community-89, domestic workers-81, Dismissed worker during Covid-19-51, disabled-14, hotel workers / tea shopkeepers-21, transport workers-23, third gender-11 and other indigent persons 80.
Food and safety items include 15 kg rice, 1 kg lentils, 1 liter soybean oil, 1 kg salt, 2 kg flour, 2 soaps, 1 packet of Lexus biscuits, 1 packet of sanitary napkins and 1 hexisol.
