Crop Cutting of AWD Boro Rice Field

Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) arranged crop cutting of Alternative Wetting and Drying (AWD) apply Boro rice field supported by RDRS Bangladesh, IRRI and BRRI at Akashkuri Masterpara under Laxmichap union and Vutian under Palashbari union of Nilphamari district on 16th and 19th May’2019 for dissemination of the technology sharing profit of Tube well pump owner and farmers. The program conducted following three steps: at 1st crop cutting, secondly threshing and take weight and thirdly profit sharing by tube well owner and farmers. The crop cutting varieties were hybrid and perform yield 40kg at Akashkuri Masterpara and 41.5 kg at Vutian per decimal after threshing. Kbd. Md. Kamrul Hasan Bokul, Upazila Agriculture Officer of Nilphamari sader, Kbd. Mizanur Rahman AEO of Nilphamari sader, Kbd. Md. Jomil, Coordinator- Agriculture, M&E of USS, respective SAAO were present in the program as guest. Guest motivated to farmers for adapt and disseminates the technology creating importance on save drinking water, keep soil health well, save environment through reduction of emission of methane gas and contribute to achieve SDG 13 (Climate Action) through their discussions. Farmers have acknowledged that AWD is profitable technology for them and they will continue the technology for boro rice cultivation.
