Sewing Machines Distributed Among Girls and Young Women at Domar Upazila

After 15 days training on sewing 6 girls and young women from poorest families were provided sewing machines dated on 6th October, 2015 at Domar upazila auditorium. USS is implementing Girl Power Project (GPP) in six unions of Domar upazila supported by Plan International Bangladesh. To create alternative income opportunities for girls and young women sewing training provided for the girls and young women. Abdur Razak Bosunia, Chairman, Domar upazila and Sabiha Sultana, UNO of Domar handed over the sewing machines to the girls and young women. “ I hope you will create a scope of income opportunities in the family so that educational as well other expenses may bear and continue study” said UNO of Domar during distributing sewing machines. “ I am very much happy that USS has given me an opportunity to trained up sewing and provided me a machine. I will try my heart and soul to create an income opportunity so that I may bear my educational expenses and also help my family during lean period” Sharmin Sulana expressed her feelings after getting sewing machines. Among the others Upazila agriculture officer, Primary education Officer, Md. Kaykobad Hossain, Project Manager, CAMPUS Project and Pobon Malo, Project Coordinator, Jaldhaka, USS were present as special guests.
