Prize Distribution Ceremony of Digital Poster and Video Making Competition

Udayankur Seba Sangstha USS, LRP-52 is implementing Women Initiatives for Community Development (W4CD) Project at Phulbari Upazilla under Kurigram district supported by Actionaid Bangladesh (AAB). Udayankur Seba Sangstha USS , LRP-52 is implementing this project in four major criteria like Women and child rights, Democratic governance, Climate Resilience and Youth Development through  Human Right Based Approaches (HRBA). As part of youth development USS is working to capacitate and develop their skills, engagement in different service providing institutions and decision making process.

Youth-led Digital Engagement (YDE) project has launched recently. One of this projects activity Udayankur  Seba Sangstha (USS) LRP-52 arranged a creative event named Digital Poster and Video Making Competition supported by ActionAid Bangladesh . For this activity, an advertisement was published through social platforms seeking posters and videos from the youths in Kurigram District. Youths were asked to make posters and videos and generate concept in this following areas:

  1. Youth Leadership
  2. Youth Employment Opportunity
  3. Youth-led Climate justice
  4. Gender and youth responsive public services

Purpose of this activity:

  1. To generate concept among the youth
  2. To include youths in digitalization process
  3. To create awareness and demand on the issues
  4.  To make stakeholders accountable

 

29th December 2020 , the prize distribution ceremony was held at Upazilla parishad hall room. Honorable chief guest Mr Golam Rabbani Sarkar, Chairman Phulbari Upazilla Parishad distributed prizes among the winners. Total six winning participants (three for digital poster and three for video) got crest and 47000/- prize money. Mr.Ejahar Ali, Chairman, Shimulbari Union Parishad; Mr. Harun-or-Rashid, Chairman, Phulbari Union parishad; Most. Soheli Akter, Women and Child Affairs officer; Mr. Abdus Sobhan Mia, Assistant Officer, Youth Development Department; Mr. Rafikul Islam, Principal Saifur Rahman govt.College and Journalists was present at the programme. The programme was chaired by honorable Upazilla Nirbahi Officer Mr. Touhidur Rahman.

After the event outcomes are as follows:

  1. Awareness increased on the issues
  2. Youths generated information on the four thematic areas
  3. Youth has learnt the importance of making posters and videos on social issues
  4. Youth has learnt the importance of using social media platforms
  5. Increased relationship between youth and service providers.
