The open budget of Bhogdaburi Union Parishad of Domar upazila of Nilphamari district has announced open budget supported by Udayankur Seba Sangstha (USS) and Action Aid Bangladesh for the financial year 2020-2021.
The open budget was announced in the hall room of Bhogdaburi Union Parishad maintaining limited physical distance in a small size on Wednesday (June 3, 2020) at 12 noon for the fiscal year 2020-2021. Mr. Ekramul Haque, Chairman of Bhogdaburi Union Parishad presented the budget. At the budget meeting, an online survey led by youth members of the Nilphamari district youth platform "Activista Nilphamari" and the district youth network "Youth Budget Thoughts" was presented to provide ideas to the youth about the Union Parishad budget and to involve the youth in the budget formulation process. "Budget Thoughts of Youth" was presented by youth member Jesmin Tarif Juy. At the same time, the youths proposed to allocate funds for sexual and reproductive health improvement of adolescents, skills development and employment of persons with special needs and unemployed youths. Mr. Azadul Haque Pramanik, Convener of the Social Audit Committee and Mr. Mokaddes Hossain, President of Jubo Prochesta addressed the budget meeting on the issue of involving the youth in the budget process.
Mr. Ekramul Haque Chairman of Bhogdaburi UP promised in his speech to involve the youth in the budget process and to allocate the youth proposals in the budget.
All the members of the standing committee of the union parishad, member of the social audit committee Ataur Rahman, secretary Mahbubar Rahman, representative of the youth organization Rajib Islam, Monirul Islam Himel, Jannatun Mewa, Zikrul Islam, local journalist Rabiul Islam, AI Palash, Jewel Kabir Basuniya and others were present.
