Training of Human Rights Defenders on Protecting Women and Girls Rights at Kurigram District

Four batch training has completed successfully for human rights defenders on protecting women and girls rights at Kurigram Zila parished conference room on 12 March 2020. 100 participants were received the training in each batch 25 participants for 3 days.  The training was started on 1st March’2020. Sultana Parvin, DC as chief guest, Jilufa Sultana ADC of Kurigram and Additional District Magistrate Mst. Jelufa Sultana attended in its closing session as special guest and also distributed certificate among the participants. Bangladesh Human Rights Defenders’ forum (BHRDF) President of Kurigram district Samiul Haque Nantu also present in the occasion. Dr. Hasna Hena Khan conducted the training. News Network and USS jointly organized the training, supported by the European Union. Rokonul Islam Deputy Director of Social welfare of Kurigram district inaugurated the training as chief guest, while Md. Habibur Rahman Social Welfare Officer of Kurigram Sadar Upazial was the special guest. Mashhuda Khatun Shafali Executive Director of Women Initiative Centre, Women rights activist Dr. Hasna Hena khan, AAM Munir Chowdhury Advocate Judge Court, High Court division, ,  and Moshfeka Razzaque were conducting the training. Participants were editor on local news papers, senior reporter of national news papers, civil society representatives, representative of women organizations and religious leaders. Jafor Ali, Chairman of Jila Parished; Aman Uddin Ahmen Monju, upazila chairman of sader upazila; Mostafizur Rahman, DD of Bangladesh Islamic Foundation; Ahasan Habib Nilu, President of Kurigram press club; Masuma Yousuf, filed coordinator of News network and Alauddin Ali, Executive Director of USS were present in the training.
