Dialogue on Rights situation of girls’ child and young women’s at Jaldhaka Upazilla

 Udayankur Seba Sangstha(USS) has been implementing the Project Titled “Sponsorship Programme-Rangpur” partnership with Plan International Bangladesh. USS has arranged a dialogue among government service providers, Youth, religious leader, local government elected members and community elite supported by Plan International Bangladesh at Upazila parishod hall room, Jaldhaka, Nilphamari on 14 June’2023 for provide support to achieve girls child & young women right.

Objective of the event:

-  The status of girl’s child & young women’s rights has come up in the discussion.

-  Make accountable and responsible of respective actors and duty bearers on girl’s child & young women’s rights.

-  Child forum networks linkage will be established with service providers, elected representatives and respective service provider’s accountability will also be increased.

Program Details:

 Upazila women affairs officer, Officers In-Charge, Upazila Youth development officer and UP chairman, youth, Religion leader, local elite, and media representatives of Jaldhaka were also present in the dialogue. Total 96 participants were present among 35 females and 61 male. At the beginning of the dialogue, a youth leaded study on girl’s child & young women’s rights of Jaldhaka Upazilla was presented. After girl’s child & young women’s rights study presentation an open discussion continued where many participant want to know from the guests that how we will ensured our right. There was some questioned and replied through open discussion for improvement of service.

Upazilla Parishad Chairman, Md. Abdul Ohahed Bahadur was the chief guest of the program.  He has addressing the importance of the local government representatives for ensuring girl’s child & young women’s rights.

This Program is chaired by Alauddin ali, Executive Director of USS. He answered various question, especially he mentioned that he will inform the donor’s organization of the demand of all unions’ works.

UNO of Jaldhaka has said that we should be known from them that what can we do to ensure the rights of girls and should be taken initiatives accordingly.

An award giving program was held before closing the session and 15 youth were received awards for their initiatives on unpaid care work in their family. There were continuing healthy discussions and a wonderful environment; the program was closed at 2.00 pm.
