USS and Action Aid Bangladesh are trying to create women friendly environment at community level to ensure women empowerment. For that resons they are committed for change the live and livelihood through programmatic intervention. In this year thematic focus is ‘’ Women in leader: an equal future in a COVID-19 world”. USS organized the different events at community level to Phulbari Upazila , Kurigram on 8th March’2021. 350 women have participated in different events from community to Upazila level.In Upazila level USS organized events support with Upazila Administration. We are trying the describe the detail information are below to:-
Objective of the events:
Discussion session: Md Thohidur Rahman, Upazila nirbahi officer is playing the role as chairpersons, and Md : Golam Rabbini Sarkar, Upazila chairman present as a chief guest. Others Upazila officers were addressing their speech about women rights and their developments agenda. And also others NGOs representative and their right holder were present which were RDRS, MJSKS. Upazila Agriculture officer invite for 6 women to develop their skill and knowledge about agriculture and value chain. Upazila livestock officer want to extend his helping hand to provide treatment and medicine support for only women. Most of the government officer is ready to provide services among the women but women didn’t receive the services from government.
Health camp: Upazila women affairs office organized the health camp for provide health support among the targeted women and girls. Most of the have cheek her presser and measure weight. Some women are getting primary health care support health camp.
Award distribution ceremony: As discussion with AAB, LRP team has taken decision for select some criteria to finalize the women leaders who are awarded from USS. As per criteria LRP-52 team had selected three women to provide award. Three women got the award from different category which are below to :
Taposi Rani Ray: To create women employment opportunity through collective initiatives. These initiatives will be contributed for economic empowerment for targeted women’s.
Mst: Halali Begum: Mst Halali Begum has been promoting her leadership skill as result she is selected as representative in different institute. She is selected as promoting leadership category.
Mst: Bizli Khatun: Mst Bizli Khatun was playing role as women leaders in emergency response and recovery. And also engage the employment opportunity for women of char livelihood.
Expression of warded women: It’s my first award in my life and I am very happy to receive it. This award contributes my life as additional encouraged in future.-------- Taposi Rani Ray.

Limitation: As per government instruction we didn’t organize the rally due to consider the COVID-19.
