Sewing Training Inaugurated in Nilphamari Sadar Upazila

Nine days sewing training inaugurated in Nilphamari sadar upazila dated on 13th September, 2015 at USS training center. USS is implementing Girl Power Project (GPP) with the partnership of Plan International Bangladesh. Under the GPP project, 25 girls and young women from vulnerable families were selected as participants by the upazila civil society network for the training. Among the participants 8 are people with disability. The sewing training was inaugurated by Executive Director of USS. Among others Pobon Malo, PC, Kritanto Roy, Admin and accounts officer, Rousonara Begum, Technical officer were present at the inauguration ceremony. Mini Akter, a disable girl from Fultola union expressed her feelings as- “People think that we are burden in the family as well community. But I want to prove it that if we get opportunity we can stand ourself. I am grateful to USS for selecting me as a participant and for showing me a dream”. After finishing the training, upazila administration will provide sewing machines to the participants.
