Diakonia Sweden and Bangladesh team members visit USS office and Karate training

Helena Lind Fundraising & communication manager, Julian Gerestrand communication officer, Rebecka Bjorndahi Fundraising officer & Gustav Hugusson Diakonia staff of Diakonia Sweden and Khodeja Sultana Lopa Country Director, Mazharul Islam Program officer & Marzina Khatun Program officer of Diakonia Bangladesh and Alauddin Ali Executive Director of USS has observed Karate training of girls at Kokoi Borogacha PC High school of sader upazila of Nilphamari district on 3rd & 4th March’2019. The training arranged by Gender Equality through Local Knowledge and Peoples Initiative (PGELKPI) project of USS supported by Diakonia. Visitors exchange view and dialogue with Student forum, teachers, Guardians, Karate trainer & trainees and boy students. Visitor has observed karate display of girls.

Diakonia visitors are very happy observing the karate training. Shahnaz Begum Coordinator of PGELKPI project, Abdul Kuddus Sarker Coordinator of Education program, Salma Akter, Gender Development Officer (GDO) and other staffs were present during visits.

This training will help the trainee to protect themselves in any unwanted situation. The training will not only help them to protection but also physical exercise too and it will be easy to adapt any kinds of circumstances.
